Washington State is beautiful, just ask any of it’s native residents. A lot of the beauty comes from our geographical diversity, with lush mountains being just a few hours drive from the Puget Sound. To the East we have acres of farmland that supply fresh grain to many distilleries to make everything from whiskey to gin and vodka. Any region of the state your find yourself in, you’re likely only a short drive away from a distillery. Washington has one of the highest numbers of distilleries in the nation, and we aren’t short of the ‘small’ producers either so if you are visiting from out of town there is a good chance you may not have heard of some folks.

The majority of our distilleries rely heavily on tasting room traffic to support their business, so more often than not you will find an owner/distiller or someone personally involved with the distillery who will be pouring you samples and passionately sharing their love for their particular spirits.

Use the map and/or filter by spirit type to narrow down your search. Once you find a distillery (or three) that pique your interest, you can click on their listing to see their tasting rooms hours, links to their own website, social media for pictures and events etc. If you find a few that you want to visit, make note and you can add them to your ‘favorites’ and make custom notes after your tasting (or before) and save it for later.

To create an account just navigate to the button at the top right corner of the trail web page and follow the instructions. You’ll get an email to confirm and then presto, you’re set to go!

The Washington Distillery Trail was launched and is managed by the Washington Distiller’s Guild, a non-profit organization of distilleries from across the state that is poised to grow our local distilling industry through education, community involvement, tasting events etc. The trail was launched in 2018 and is only the beginning of a multi-phase project. Please feel free to sign up for our newsletter (link at bottom of page on mail icon) for updates as we build programs like a Washington Spirits Month, trail booklets and merchandise etc.

Thank you for visiting the trail and we hope your journey is a refreshing one!
